Sea Kayak Rental Policy - Please read thoroughly

All sea kayak renters are required to sign a standard rental agreement form, which includes a release of claims and acknowledgement of responsibility for the equipment.

-

Any lost or damaged equipment will be charged to the renter at the full retail price.

-

All renters must have a valid ID and a matching credit card for a damage deposit. Your card will not be charged unless the boat and equipment are damaged or not returned.

-

Cancellation: If a rental is canceled by the client within 48 hours of the rental date you will be charged the full amount of the rental unless it is rescheduled to a different date/time.

-

We reserve the right to cancel or alter any sea kayak rentals due to the weather.  If ECO cancels the trip due to weather-related reasons (High winds, fog or lightning), there will not be a fee and we will try and reschedule.

-

Renters must arrive 30 minutes prior to their reservation time to complete a standard rental waiver,  payment and trip report. ECO staff will ensure that you have a thorough trip report and that you understand the conditions, routes and emergency procedures. A cell phone or some form of communication is required while on the water.  This is for your safety.

-

Everyone under the age of majority (19yrs) must have a parent or legal guardian sign a standard rental waiver

-

We do not recommend people paddling by themself. If you wish to do so, solo sea kayakers must have experience completing a solo capsize re-entry and/or show proof of having participated in a Paddle Canada Level 1 course or higher/equivalent level. This is for your safety. Navigation and rescue experience are recommended for groups of 2 or more paddlers. Learn more about that on our Lessons page

-

Depending on the weather conditions, we reserve the right to require that you use a guide or have basic training and paddling experience.

-

All-day sea kayak rentals must return to ECO at least 2 hours before sunset.

-

No experience? Try going on one of our daily guided tours or evening specials!

-

We require basic safety training (provided on-site) and paddling experience for self-guided tours. We reserve the right to deny service and/or recommend a guide if we feel it is necessary for reasons of safety. This includes water temperature, lack of paddling experience and weather conditions.
